Spirituality of Congregation of the Sisters Disciples of Jesus in the Eucharist.

SPIRITUALITY OF DGE

The soul of the Founder is clearly reflected in the Constitutions and his spirituality becomes the spirituality of the Disciples.
He was a very humble, perpetual adorer who, during his long life, which was constantly and faithfully arranged in God’s light, was able not only to give the prayer the best part of his soul, but was also able to invigorate the several apostolic activities, the different social relationships and even the smallest, insignificant actions with such a supernatural spirit, as to turn every moment of his life into worship and irradiate God in those who, even for the first time, approached him. That is what he wanted for his Disciples.

Called for their special aim, to be adorers and reparatrix, the Sisters Disciples draw the Eucharistic spirit off in their daily hour of adoration, and essential privilege and commitment of their vocation; reminding that “in God we live, move and are”, turning each moment of their lives into worship; enjoying the “sublime beauty of mixed life…they continuously ascent to God by their prayer, to descend then to help their neighbors and to devote themselves to all the others, to lead everyone to God”. (Conts. Art. 5)

The dominant idea of the Founder is the “dominant idea” of the Disciples, expressed in the motto He chose and of which he was always enthusiastic “Magister Adest et Vocat te!”.  A motto which will be a permanent invitation to make even the smallest actions supernatural, seeing God in all creatures and events, listening to the voice of God in each demand for observance and obedience.

The enthusiastic life must be broaden the Disciples’ heart and make it pulse with the heart of the Church, mystical body of Christ. They will give value to every pain, giving it with lovely joy to their Bride, “in spirit of reparation” and will embrace, “without ever crystallizing”, each form of apostolate demanded by the times, by accepting each invitation the Holy Father would like to extend them. If they have the preference, it will be the poorest and most uncomfortable working camps for the neediest environments, for those abandoned by societies, since their enjoyment will have to be Jesus’ enjoyment, since “not only as individuals, but also as a Congregation, they will prefer the last place”. (Cons. Art. 11)
